Overview

City University of Seattle is private, not-for-profit universities with over 40,000 graduates worldwide. The University is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Its mission is to change lives for good by offering high quality and relevant lifelong education to anyone with the desire to learn.

City University of Seattle is a popular education destination among US and international students who are interested in obtaining skills and knowledge that will allow them to obtain enriching jobs where they can continue to grow professionally. A number of CitU alumni are among today’s world leaders in business – the vice-president of Yahoo, the head of Boeing in India, to name just a few.

Currently, the University has over 9,000 students studying on our campuses in 11 countries. In the US CityU has over 2,000 students, 300 of whom are international students. They come to CityU because: The skills and knowledge of CityU graduates meet the needs of today's business community; CityU proximity to Microsoft, Boeing, Starbucks and other multinational corporations offers students excellent prospects for Optional Practical Training (OPT) during their studies and upon graduation.

CityU academic programs are probably the best value on the educational market nowadays for its quality and price;

CityU is committed to the mission to provide access to higher education to all and does not require the SAT, GRE, or GMAT tests;

CityU welcomes students of all English levels and offers conditional acceptance to many academic programs;

Scholarships

New International Student Scholarship
City University of Seattle is making available 20 tuition scholarships each year in the amount of $3,000 to new applicants from outside of the US.

Eligibility: New international applicants applying for an academic degree program from outside of the United States who have never applied to or attended City University of Seattle. Conditionally admitted degree seeking students with pending English proficiency qualify; however, the award can only be applied towards academic classes (and not ESL studies).

Award: $ 3,000 tuition scholarships ($1,000 applied towards the tuition of the first three quarters of enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program).

Selection criteria: Scholarships in this category are awarded to applicants that are able to demonstrate how earning a CityU degree will impact their future career/life plans, their involvement in the wider community and applicant demonstrates satisfactory academic performance.

Application guidelines:

Scholarship application documents include:

  • Completed City University of Seattle International Student Scholarship
  • Application form
  • Copy of transcript showing a minimum overall GPA of 2.0.
  • Essay (maximum of 1,000 words): Describing how studies at City University of Seattle will the students achieve his/her future goals.
  • Community Involvement Statement (maximum of 500 words): Describing the student’s participation in non-academic activities, specifically those impacting the larger community (i.e. volunteer, student leadership roles, and extracurricular activities).

It is recommended that students who are interested in this scholarship apply at the time when they send their application to the university. In any case, the scholarship applications must be post marked by the deadlines no later than:

  • Fall Quarter Attendance (October): September 15
  • Winter Quarter Attendance (January): December 15
  • Spring Quarter Attendance (April): March 15
  • Summer Quarter Attendance (July): June 15

Location & Facilities

City University of Seattle's main campus is located 15 minutes from downtown Seattle in an area that is a home to some of the world's largest multinational corporations – Microsoft, Boeing, Starbucks, Expedia, Costco, and many others. It is also famous for its natural beauty, and entrepreneurial spirit that provides great opportunities for people with the desire to succeed. The university does not provide dormitories to international students but offers them a wide range on homestay and apartments options in Seattle, Bellevue, Ranton, and other nearby locations.
